New nonlinear stiffness actuator with predefined torquedeflection profile

摘要: A nonlinear stiffness actuator (NSA) could achieve high torque/force resolution in low stiffness range and high bandwidth in high stiffness range, both of which are beneficial for physical interaction between a robot and the environment. Currently, most of NSAs are complex and hardly used for engineering. In this paper, oriented to engineering applications, a new simple NSA was proposed, mainly including leaf springs and especially designed cams, which could perform a predefined relationship between torque and deflection. The new NSA has a compact structure, and it is lightweight, both of which are also beneficial for its practical application. An analytical methodology that maps the predefined relationship between torque and deflection to the profile of the cam was developed. The optimal parameters of the structure were given by analyzing the weight of the NSA and the mechanic characteristic of the leaf spring. Though sliding friction force is inevitable because no rollers were used in the cam-based mechanism, the sliding displacement between the cam and the leaf spring is very small, and consumption of sliding friction force is very low. Simulations of different torque‒deflection profiles were carried out to verify the accuracy and applicability of performing predefined torque‒deflection profiles. Three kinds of prototype experiments, including verification experiment of the predefined torque‒deflection profile, torque tracking experiment, and position tracking experiment under different loads, were conducted. The results prove the accuracy of performing the predefined torque‒deflection profile, the tracking performance, and the interactive performance of the new NSA.

Improved prediction of pile bending moment and deflection due to adjacent braced excavation

摘要: Deep excavations in dense urban areas have caused damage to nearby existing structures in numerous past construction cases. Proper assessment is crucial in the initial design stages. This study develops equations to predict the existing pile bending moment and deflection produced by adjacent braced excavations. Influential parameters (i.e., the excavation geometry, diaphragm wall thickness, pile geometry, strength and small-strain stiffness of the soil, and soft clay thickness) were considered and employed in the developed equations. It is practically unfeasible to obtain measurement data; hence, artificial data for the bending moment and deflection of existing piles were produced from well-calibrated numerical analyses of hypothetical cases, using the three-dimensional finite element method. The developed equations were established through a multiple linear regression analysis of the artificial data, using the transformation technique. In addition, the three-dimensional nature of the excavation work was characterized by considering the excavation corner effect, using the plane strain ratio parameter. The estimation results of the developed equations can provide satisfactory pile bending moment and deflection data and are more accurate than those found in previous studies.

Modeling of large-deflection links for compliant mechanisms

摘要: The traditional pseudo-rigid-body model (PRBM) has one degree of freedom (DOF) and performs a good simulation to the tip locus of flexible links for compliant mechanisms on the basis of a parametric approximation method. In this study, a new approach of a two-DOF PRBM is proposed to simulate both the tip locus and tip deflection angle of large-deflection links for compliant mechanisms on the basis of the angular deflection approximation technique. A linear regression for the spring stiffness coefficient of the 2R PRBM using the optimization technique is presented. The advantage of the new model is well illustrated through a numerical comparison between the 1R and the 2R PRBM.

Influence of surface cracking, anchor head profile, and anchor head size on cast-in headed anchors in

摘要: In this study, the concrete cone capacity, concrete cone angle, and load–displacement response of cast-in headed anchors in geopolymer concrete are explored using numerical analyses. The concrete damaged plasticity (CDP) model in ABAQUS is used to simulate the behavior of concrete substrates. The tensile behavior of anchors in geopolymer concrete is compared with that in normal concrete as well as that predicted by the linear fracture mechanics (LFM) and concrete capacity design (CCD) models. The results show that the capacity of the anchors in geopolymer concrete is 30%–40% lower than that in normal concrete. The results also indicate that the CCD model overestimates the capacity of the anchors in geopolymer concrete, whereas the LFM model provides a much more conservative prediction. The extent of the difference between the predictions by the numerical analysis and those of the above prediction models depends on the effective embedment depth of the anchor and the anchor head size. The influence of concrete surface cracking on the capacity of the anchor is shown to depend on the location of the crack and the effective embedment depth. The influence of the anchor head profile on the tensile capacity of the anchors is found to be insignificant.

Robust energy-efficient train speed profile optimization in a scenario-based position–time–speed network

摘要: Train speed profile optimization is an efficient approach to reducing energy consumption in urban rail transit systems. Different from most existing studies that assume deterministic parameters as model inputs, this paper proposes a robust energy-efficient train speed profile optimization approach by considering the uncertainty of train modeling parameters. Specifically, we first construct a scenario-based position–time–speed (PTS) network by considering resistance parameters as discrete scenario-based random variables. Then, a percentile reliability model is proposed to generate a robust train speed profile, by which the scenario-based energy consumption is less than the model objective value at α confidence level. To solve the model efficiently, we present several algorithms to eliminate the infeasible nodes and arcs in the PTS network and propose a model reformulation strategy to transform the original model into an equivalent linear programming model. Lastly, on the basis of our field test data collected in Beijing metro Yizhuang line, a series of experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the model and analyze the influences of parameter uncertainties on the generated train speed profile.

Analysis and characterization of wind-solar-constant torque spring hybridized model

摘要: Solar and wind are the most promising renewable energy resources. But their unpredictable and varying nature prevents them from being used as the sole resource for power generation. This paper presents a model of wind and solar thermal hybrid power plant with a spring storage system which is expected to play an efficient role in combating with the drawbacks related to renewable power generation. In the proposed scheme, wind energy is harnessed by a hybrid vertical axis wind turbine, solar energy is utilized by a Stirling engine, and the surplus energy is stored in a winding spring. The paper discusses the working methodologies and analyses the performance of such 2.6 kW hybrid power plant model. It has been observed that the plant is capable of consistently generating 50% of its rated capacity irrespective of limitations in solar and wind resources.

Thermal deflection analysis of the solidified shell in continuous casting of slab

摘要: The thermal deformation problem in the continuous casting of a slab subjected to thermal loading because of the temperature gradient along the solidified shell thickness is investigated. On the basis of the reciprocal theorem of work or Betti-Maxwell s reciprocal theorem and the superposition principle, the deflection expressions for a rectangular plate with the two opposite edges simply supported, and the other two opposite edges clamped under the action of the uniformly distributed load and nonuniform temperature field are derived respectively. The meaning of each term in the deflection expression obtained by the reciprocal theorem of work is explained. Then the practical example is given to calculate the thermal deformation and the bulging deformation of the solidified shell under three tension speeds. This research is useful for analyzing the bulging deformation in the continuous casting of a slab under the static pressure of the molten steel and the thermal loading because of the temperature gradient along the solidified shell thickness.

Instantaneous deflection of light-weight concrete slabs

摘要: Construction loading before the age of 28 d can have the most significant effects on the slabs, especially for multi-story structures. The changing properties of the young concrete complicate the prediction of serviceability design requirements also. An experimental investigation is performed on four simply supported Light-Weight Concrete (LWC) one-way slabs subjected to immediate loading at 14 d. Effects of aggregate type, loading levels and cracking moment together with the influences of ultimate moment capacity and service moment on the instantaneous deflection of slabs are studied. Comparison of the obtained results with predictions of existing models in the literature shows considerable differences between the recorded and estimated instantaneous deflection of LWC slabs. Based on sensitivity analysis of the effective parameters, a new equation is proposed and verified to predict the instantaneous deflection of LWC slabs subjected to loading at the age of 14 d.

Comparative study of various artificial intelligence approaches applied to direct torque control of induction

摘要: In this paper, three intelligent approaches were proposed, applied to direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor drive to replace conventional hysteresis comparators and selection table, namely fuzzy logic, artificial neural network and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The simulated results obtained demonstrate the feasibility of the adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system based direct torque control (ANFIS-DTC). Compared with the classical direct torque control, fuzzy logic based direct torque control (FL-DTC), and neural networks based direct torque control (NN-DTC), the proposed ANFIS-based scheme optimizes the electromagnetic torque and stator flux ripples, and incurs much shorter execution times and hence the errors caused by control time delays are minimized. The validity of the proposed methods is confirmed by simulation results.

Analytical model and finite element computation of braking torque in electromagnetic retarder

摘要:

An analytical model has been developed for analyzing the braking torque in electromagnetic retarder by flux tube and armature reaction method. The magnetic field distribution in air gap, the eddy current induced in the rotor and the braking torque are calculated by the developed model. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite element models for retarder have also been developed. Results from the analytical model are compared with those from finite element models. The validity of these three models is checked by the comparison of the theoretical predictions and the measurements from an experimental prototype. The influencing factors of braking torque have been studied.

Robust SVM-direct torque control of induction motor based on sliding mode controller and sliding mode

摘要: This paper proposes a design of control and estimation strategy for induction motor based on the variable structure approach. It describes a coupling of sliding mode direct torque control (DTC) with sliding mode flux and speed observer. This algorithm uses direct torque control basics and the sliding mode approach. A robust electromagnetic torque and flux controllers are designed to overcome the conventional SVM-DTC drawbacks and to ensure fast response and full reference tracking with desired dynamic behavior and low ripple level. The sliding mode controller is used to generate reference voltages in stationary frame and give them to the controlled motor after modulation by a space vector modulation (SVM) inverter. The second aim of this paper is to design a sliding mode speed/flux observer which can improve the control performances by using a sensorless algorithm to get an accurate estimation, and consequently, increase the reliability of the system and decrease the cost of using sensors. The effectiveness of the whole composed control algorithm is investigated in different robustness tests with simulation using Matlab/Simulink and verified by real time experimental implementation based on dS pace 1104 board.

Torsional behavior of triangular web profile (TRIWP) steel section by experimental study

摘要: A triangular web profile (TriWP) is a modified section where the flanges are connected to a web plate of triangular profile. This study examined the torsional behavior of TriWP steel sections and compared to that of the flat web (FW) steel sections. Three types of specimen sizes were used: 180 mm × 75 mm × 5 mm × 2 mm, 200 mm × 100 mm × 8 mm × 6 mm, and 200 mm × 100 mm × 6 mm × 5 mm. All the specimens were loaded vertically until the maximum load was achieved and then the load was released. For both types of specimens, it was observed that the torsional rotation for bigger size [200 mm × 100 mm × 8 mm × 6 mm] were smaller than that of smaller size [180 mm × 75 mm × 5 mm × 2 mm] of the specimens. At the maximum torsional loading, the experimental result was compared to the theoretical calculation. The comparison showed that the percentage difference ranged from 1.10% to 16.80%. From the graph of torsional load versus rotational angle, the torsional rotation for all TriWP steel sections were smaller than that of the FW steel section under the same torsional loading i.e., 0.2 kNm and 1 kNm. The range between FW and TriWP were 3.74 to 71.83 at 0.2 kNm while 14.5 to 75.1 at 1.0 kNm. The findings were shown that the TriWP steel sections had better resistance against torsion in comparison to FW steel section.

摘要:

针对回转窑托轮偏斜对接触区应力分布的影响,运用赫兹接触理论,推导出托轮与滚圈最大接触应力比与托轮偏斜角的关系;采用有限元方法计算某支承结构托轮平行与呈最大偏斜角时的接触问题,得到支承部件接触应力和等效应力应变分布情况,并得出滚圈和托轮的危险易损部位;为回转窑的轴向调控提供了有效的理论依据。

Multi-omics joint analysis revealed the metabolic profile of retroperitoneal liposarcoma

摘要: Retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RLPS) is the main subtype of retroperitoneal soft sarcoma (RSTS) and has a poor prognosis and few treatment options, except for surgery. The proteomic and metabolic profiles of RLPS have remained unclear. The aim of our study was to reveal the metabolic profile of RLPS. Here, we performed proteomic analysis (n = 10), metabolomic analysis (n = 51), and lipidomic analysis (n = 50) of retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma (RDDLPS) and retroperitoneal well-differentiated liposarcoma (RWDLPS) tissue and paired adjacent adipose tissue obtained during surgery. Data analysis mainly revealed that glycolysis, purine metabolism, pyrimidine metabolism and phospholipid formation were upregulated in both RDDLPS and RWDLPS tissue compared with the adjacent adipose tissue, whereas the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, lipid absorption and synthesis, fatty acid degradation and biosynthesis, as well as glycine, serine, and threonine metabolism were downregulated. Of particular importance, the glycolytic inhibitor 2-deoxy-D-glucose and pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) inhibitor RRX-001 significantly promoted the antitumor effects of the MDM2 inhibitor RG7112 and CDK4 inhibitor abemaciclib. Our study not only describes the metabolic profiles of RDDLPS and RWDLPS, but also offers potential therapeutic targets and strategies for RLPS.

A total torque index for dynamic performance evaluation of a radial symmetric six-legged robot

摘要:

This article focuses on the dynamic index and performance of a radial symmetric six-legged robot. At first the structure of the robot is described in brief and its inverse kinematics is presented. Then the dynamic model is formulated as based on the Lagrange equations. A novel index of total torque is proposed by considering the posture of the supporting legs. The new index can be used to optimize the leg’s structure and operation for consuming minimum power and avoiding unstable postures of the robot. A characterization of the proposed six-legged robot is obtained by a parametric analysis of robot performance through simulation using the presented dynamic model. Main influences are outlined as well as the usefulness of the proposed performance index.
